| Munnar is located high on the
Western Ghats among the evergreen tropical
forest. The time from June to August is of
pouring rains; but the rest of the year, Munnar
has a calm and cold climate. The season begins
mid September and extends to February. However,
these days, there is a moderate tourist inflow
all year round. |
| Munnar is especially known for
the Neelakurinji flowers that bloom once in
12 years in Rajamala turning it in to hill
of blue flowers. This attracts a large number
of uniform and natural lovers. The Eravikulam
National Park,a man attraction here remains
closed for 45 days strarting early January
since it is the breeding season of the endangered
species of Nilgiri Tahr. |
Eravikulam
Eravikulam is reachable only by foot from
Rajamala. It is a protected forest area and
is named Eravikulam national park. |
